Having grown up around racing, Dane’s drawn to the sport’s uniqueness. It’s not something
that every other 16 or 17 year old is doing. Racing also provides a sense of accomplishment.
“Driving requires a lot more skill than people think,” says Dane, who describes racing as an art
as well as a skill. “A lot of racers pull more Gs than fighter pilots do. Most people don’t
recognize that.” He realizes that it is a sport to respect, and hopes to grow along with the teams that he works with.

Recent: Dane began racing Karts at 13 and got his SCCA competition license at age 16.
In 2005, Dane competed in the Skip Barber Midwest Sportsman Regional Race Series. The Skip Barber Race Series is the largest open-wheel amateur
championship in North America. Dane’s first race performance earned him the Rookie of the Race Award and his second and third place
victories earned him two podium finishes that season.

Eight races into the 2005/2006 Skip Barber Southern Sportsman Regional Championship, Dane’s enjoyed 5 top five finishes. At Moroso Motorsports Park,
Dane finished fifth in race one and fourth in race two at Homestead Miami Speedway. Most recently, Dane enjoyed a second place finish and two
wins during races on the Sebring 12 Hour course.

Career Highlights: Some of Dane’s proudest moments have taken place when he started from the rear of the pack and moved forward a considerable
amount. At Road America in Wisconsin where he was leading by 25 car lengths, a mistake threw him off track, and he had to pit and restart in the back.
“I ended up working my way back up and finished that race in third, a podium finish.” Dane also has had other moments like this, such as his 12th place
start at Sebring, finishing on the podium in second place.

Staying Competitive: “Get as much seat time as I can possibly fit in and work racing in with future college plans. I really want to get into as many
different cars as possible, like the GTO and bigger cars I’ve never been in.”
